TOUGH-SEAL

Tough-Seal is a sealant for potting
electrical and electronic components when
premium thermal cycling performance is required.
It delivers low embedment stress upon cure and during thermal cycle exposures. The inherent resilience of Tough-Seal is more gentle on sensitive circuitry than hard epoxy potting compounds while at the same time providing an exceptional encapsulating shield to protect the electronic components from the environment better than the weaker urethanes.

Tough-Seal is a family of easy to mix, two component, hybrid epoxy elastomer potting compounds that do not contain isocyanates. It has a milder health and safety profile than urethane encapsulants. Tough-Seal is a lower cost option to silicones.

Tough-Seal is provided in a convenient mix ratio that is easy to mix. It sets at room temperature to form a durable and firm encapsulating polymer with exceptional flexibility from minus (-)75°F with elevated temperature resistance up to 300°F. As an epoxy, Tough-Seal picks up where urethane encapsulants drop off, while its tough, rubbery nature delivers thermal cycling performance not typically found in epoxy potting compound materials in order to protect and encapsulate theelectrical and electronic components from the environment.

Which Tough-Seal is Right for Me?protects

Tough-Seal is an entire family of potting compounds with excellent thermal cycling characteristics. There are four variations to suit your individual application requirements.

While all Tough-Seal is elastomeric, they largely differ on the basis of cured hardness, working life and flow.
